Lessons in Love: Lesson Five

Are You Born Again?

If the answer is a confident yes, then read on. If it’s a no, maybe, not sure, or I think so. Then read the last two chapters of this book on salvation and remain connected.

As a born-again believer I struggled with the following scripture because I did not feel like a new creature, and old things did not seem to pass away, and nothing much seemed new!

Until I came across the following revelations in The Word of God and with this teaching…

As a born-again believer did you know you are made up of three parts being spirit, soul and body.

Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2Cor 5:17

Most of us are aware of our body and soul. For we know our body is simply the physical structure, including the bones, flesh, and organs.

And that our soul is our emotional or intellectual energy or intensity, including our personality. But where does our spirit come from?

God formed the BODY of man from the dust of the ground, and breathed His SPIRIT into man and man became a living SOUL. READ Gen 2:7

And because our spirit was corrupted by sin: Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. Eph 2:2- 3

But you: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 1Peter 1:23

The day you were born again. The Holy Spirit came to live on the inside of you, in your belly!

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. John 7:38

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. Eph 1:13

The Holy Spirit in you, is sealed, which means there is nothing you can do or have done to corrupt Him.

However, we can grieve The Holy Spirit when he draws us to Himself and we reject Him. Or when he prompts, leads or guide us to do something and out of a fear of man or selfishness, we ignore Him and do not do the good thing He has asked us to do and go our own way.

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Eph 4:30

It is The Holy Spirit in you that is a new creature. The ‘Old Man’ or ‘spirit of man’ has passed away (died) The ‘New Man’ The Holy Spirit in you is new and completely sealed. So your soul and body can never corrupt The Holy Spirit inside of you.

And, even though we can grieve Him by rejecting His prompting, leading and guiding to do good. He has promised to never leave you, nor forsake you. READ Heb 13:5

This human spirit referred to as ‘The Old Man’ is explained in this verse: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Rom 6:6

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Eph 4:22-24

Stop using your human faith, which profits nothing. And start using the supernatural faith of God which comes alive by hearing and speaking His Word.

Therefore, as we renew our minds by speaking out The Word of God because faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. READ Rom 10:17

That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. Philemon 1:6

And by acknowledging every good thing in ‘The Holy Spirit’ in us. That is in Christ Jesus. As they are of the one and same Spirit. This becomes effectual (starts working) from inside out!

As Jesus Christ is (right now), so are we in this world. READ 1John 4:17

This includes: The immeasurable Love of God, because God is love, and His love is right now living on the inside of you!

The same resurrection power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead now lives on the inside of you.

The same creative power that hovered over the waters and created the heavens and the earth now lives on the inside of you.

The mind of Christ that knows all things; now lives on the inside of you. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. 1Cor 2:16

All the fruit of The Holy Spirit: Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. John 15-8

All the gifts of The Holy Spirit are available on the inside of you: But covet earnestly the best gifts: READ 1Cor 12:31

All the promises and blessings of GOD are already Yes, and Amen on the inside of you: For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 2Cor 1:20

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2Cor 7:1

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1Thess 5:23

I believe if we can grieve The Holy Spirit we can also do what is right and good to PLEASE HIM…

Holy Spirt what would you love you and me to do today that pleases you?

  1. This lesson I have learnt that human faith can receive you and only leading one to nowhere. But supernatural Faith comes from the Holy Spirit and will never mislead a born again believer.. Thank you Lord for giving me assurance Faith that will never fade away.
